Give Military Kids a Positive Start to the School Year

Send a Note of Encouragement

Military family life can be challenging — especially for kids.

This summer, as many permanent change of station (PCS) moves are happening, thousands of military kids across the nation face massive changes — uprooted families, new schools, new teachers, new friends, new everything. And for many of these kids it’s not their first move. In fact, by the time military children reach 12th grade, they will have moved between 6-9 times.

During these times of transition, the Armed Services YMCA is the one thing military kids know they can count on — and today, you can help provide them a little extra support when they need it most!

This month we’re asking friends like you to send military children a message of encouragement. A positive note from you can comfort a child who may be feeling anxious about starting a new school in a new community. With your help, we can thank them for their sacrifices and let them know they are not alone.

When you sign our digital card today, you’ll be giving military kids that extra boost of confidence they’ll need to start the school year off right. We’ll share these notes over the next several weeks with kids who benefit from our programs.

Thanks for making the new school year a little bit easier for military kids.
